Unboxing and overview

Samsung announced the C7 Pro shortly after the C9 Pro. It followed the same recipe, but distilled in a smaller package, and consequently, a smaller price tag. In a way, this is the more appropriate device to make a stand against the onslaught of Chinese smartphones. The smaller size also makes the C7 Pro more approachable for most people, who might have found the 6.0-inch C9 Pro intimidating size-wise. The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro back seemed like Samsung's response to the growing threat of Chinese devices on the market - devices that had started to steal focus and market share away from Samsung in the mid-range segment. For what it's worth, we thought it was a good attempt by Samsung. Design and Display

The C7 Pro is a beautiful device. The unibody metal construction is absolutely rocked solid with no flex or creaking- the phone feels like a tank. Even deliberately attempting to bend the phone with a small amount of force didn't cause it to give in. Although it's unlikely that the glass will survive a drop considering it goes all the way to the edge, the phone should handle everyday use with absolute ease.Read More >>

Software Review

The Galaxy C7 Pro runs Samsung's TouchWiz UI on top of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Unfortunately, the Nougat update is nowhere in sight and there is also no intimation on when the update will be available to users. Starting with the launcher, we see the C7 Pro stick to the home screen + app drawer layout, complete with the app drawer button in the corner that is obligatory for Samsung phones. Performance Review

the C7 Pro is still a perfectly good device that will get you through your everyday tasks with ease. The UI is mostly fluid and the apps open quickly. The 4GB RAM is plenty, but Samsung still uses fairly aggressive memory management to close apps in the background. Camera Review

The Galaxy C7 Pro has a 16-megapixel camera on the back with f1.9 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and two-tone dual LED flash. The camera can also record 1080p 30fps video. The camera software on Samsung phones has been refined over the years and remains one of the best out there.
